About

I’ve always wanted to make my own games.
I’ve realised to do something like this well you can’t cut corners.
Due to this I’ve taken myself back to the start.  I’ve learned the basics of programming and am “game by game” making the classics of the games world.
The knowledge garnered through this experience of crawling before I can walk and walking before I can run should help me finally make “the game”, whatever it may be.

I only get a couple of hours a week at the very most, so it’s a slow road, but that’s OK.  It’s still rewarding.

Current Game:
Mine Field
An interesting journey with some fun challenges like flood clearing cells, win conditions and more. This game has been a fun learning experience.

Geeky information:
I used to know a bit of PHP and MySQL back in the day.
I recently picked up some Javascript so I could make sense of Meteor.
Looking for a games engine I tried many but found and enjoyed one called Godot.  Its scripting language, called GDScript and is similar to Python.
Due to this I learned some basic Python so I could use Godot.  If you’re a beginner, check out the codecademy courses, they’re highly recommended.

Tools I use from time to time:
Godot Engine
Sublime Edit
Aseprite
Audacity
Blender
CFXR
Inkscape
Krita
Pixelmator
Pixen
Sunvox
Trello

I run day to day on Ubuntu Linux
